Search and Rescue
 Coos County Sheriff's Search & Rescue is  a volunteer organization.
     The Sheriff's Search & Rescue team conducts searches for missing persons throughout Coos County and assists other county search teams during mutual aid call-outs.  It is a member of CORSAR

       To apply for membership in Coos County Sheriff's Search & Rescue, you must:

        *  Be 16 years of age or older.
        * Have no felony or criminal convictions in the last three years and not be currently on parole.
        * Have a positive can-do attitude.
        * Be willing to complete a course of training annually.
        * Be a person of good character.

The Coos County Sheriff's Search & Rescue Team meets at:
            The Sheriff's Office
            Basement of County Courthouse 
            Coquille, Oregon
            2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM

DIRECTIONS:
    Since it is after hours, we enter the Sheriff's Office via the rear door.  It is not the easiest entry to find.  There are two ways to locate the correct door.   Park in front of the courthouse.   Walk down the driveway between the courthouse and the jail (tall building on the right).
About a hundred feet or so, go left into a covered alleyway.  At the end of the alleyway, there is a door on your left and an open stairs to your right.  Bang on the door.  Someone will come and open it.   (See map below)
 
        The other way to get in is to get there a little early and look for someone from SAR.   We are usually the only ones around at that time of the evening.  Anybody will be glad to show you the way.
