Every person who has ever participated in a Search and Rescue operation is deserving of accolades from the community as a whole and the SAR team in particular.  On this site we will attempt to relate some of their stories.  To open this page, we will begin with Jennifer Sperling.  Jennifer was the tireless president of the Coos County Search and Rescue team for the year 2003.  Her story can be accessed by clicking on her name in the column to your left.

If you know of anyone in SAR, past or present, whose story should be on theses pages
please contact Joe Doman at jdoman@cooscountysheriff.com

Searches are dramatic by nature in the retelling.  On these pages are the stories of the Coos County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team's call-outs.  It is hoped that the reader can see behind the drama and get a sense of the world of Search and Rescue.
SAR members on a mission are often cold, dirty, wet, tired and hungry.  But, always they are proud of the contribution they give to our community.  Their motto sums it up rather aptly:  Whenever, Wherever.
